Jenna SnowJenna Snow - President

Jenna Snow began working at 51社区 in July 2020 with the Financial Aid department. She now works and loves her career in Payroll. She enjoys helping others while wearing a smile on her face. She joined Staff Senate in hopes to be a friendly face staff know they can count on and to build upon a positive working environment where staff feel appreciated and know they have a team supporting them. She is passionate about making a positive impact on campus and is looking forward to working together.


Mike HaldaneMike Haldane - Vice President

Mike Haldane started working at 51社区 in February of 2020 as the Career Fair & On-Campus Interview Coordinator in Career Services, and is now the Director of the Mail/Copy Center and Digger Card Center. Mike really enjoys interacting with the faculty, staff, and students of 51社区 in his current role, and is proud to be part of such a prestigious institution of higher learning. Becoming part of the Staff Senate seemed like a great way for Mike to connect more with the 51社区 family, so he jumped at the opportunity! As a member of the Staff Senate, Mike hopes to have a positive impact on both the north and south campuses, and to help make 51社区 a better place to work.


Marcia Lubick

Marcia Lubick - Treasurer

Marcia Lubick earned her BS in Business & Information Technology, graduating with honors from 51社区 in December 2002 while working 40 hours a week at the 51社区 Library.

She loves her job and enjoys helping students, faculty and staff with whatever they need from the library.  From experience, Marcia understands that juggling what’s important in our lives including family, academics and work can be stressful which makes it so very important to make customer experiences in the Library positive and productive.   Marcia tries to go the extra mile every day to help our students. 

Service to the community is also important to Marcia and she enjoys working with the other Staff Senate members to make this campus an even better place to work.


Ice DemusIce Demus - Secretary

Ice Demus is a native Texan and moved to Montana for the scenic drives and long winters. She began working with the Financial Aid Department here at Tech during the Fall of 2023 and became a Senator shortly after. Meeting new people and learning how their personal experiences have shaped how they show up and view the world is her favorite part about being on campus. As an advocator for equity and inclusivity, she is excited to be a part of 51社区’s evolution and help fellow Oredigger staff feel welcome and wanted in their spaces.

Ice greatly appreciates the opportunity to serve as Secretary on the Staff Senate and looks forward to being the change she wishes to see in the world. If you need a laugh for the day, just ask her “what’s cooler than being cold?”



Quinn CassidyQuinn Cassidy

Quinn Cassidy is originally from Idaho Falls, Idaho but has deep family roots in Butte Mt. Quinn decided to go to Tech and major in Business Information Technologies with an emphasis in management. Quinn was an RA and Apartment Manager while he attended 51社区 and graduated in December 2023 in BIT. Quinn now works in Residence Life, and he wants to continue making changes in how students and staff interact to create a healthy environment that fosters the most growth and development. Quinn's interests are camping, video games, comics/manga, and community-based activities.



Barbara Cass

Barb Cass

Barb Cass earned her BS in Professional and Technical Communication in 2017.  She started working at the 51社区 Bookstore as a student employee and stepped into the role of textbook buyer in 2018.  She loves working on campus with the faculty, staff, and students.  Barb believes there is something to be learned from those younger as well as those who are older.  She joined Staff Senate to encourage positive change through communication.


Shauna Goodell

Shauna Goodell hails from Maryland and has a M.A. in Student Affairs.  She moved to Butte in 2021 to establish the Office of Disability Services and later co-created the campus Testing Center.  She loves to help out other staff and brainstorm new ideas for professional development and student engagement.  Shauna once heard that the hierarchy in higher education is faculty, furniture, then staff.  As a Staff Senator who values fairness, she hopes to change that.


Madeline Thomas

Madeline Thomas

Madeline Thomas is a native Mississippian and moved to Montana in 2023.  She began working at 51社区 in Fall of 2023 in Residence Life as the Administrative Assistant.  Now as the Director of Campus Life, Madeline really wouldn't wish to be in any other position.  She enjoys the interactions with all the incoming students at orientation.  The way she sees it, "you have to speak for those who can't speak for themselves".  She strives to be the light in all situations. 


Teagan LeitzkeTeagan Leitzke

Teagan earned her PhD in Materials Science in 2022 from 51社区 and continued at 51社区 as a post-doctoral researcher. She enjoys working with students, faculty, and staff on research projects and hopes to bring a cooperative, teamwork mindset into her role as a Staff Senator. She looks forward to being involved in creating a positive, collaborative, and dynamic work environment and helping make Tech a fantastic place to work.


Debbie LuftDebbie Luft

Debbie has been working at 51社区 since May of 2005 after earning her second Bachelor’s degree from 51社区 in Biological Sciences. For the first three years she worked as a full time research assistant for Tech professors Don and Andrea Stierle performing many of the bioassays for the lab as well as maintaining the lab’s numerous microbial cultures. Then in May of 2008 she began working as an academic recruiter for 51社区. During that time, she has worked with all groups of students, but most recently she works with transfer students to assist them in their admissions process and works other college campuses to create new transfer articulation agreements and pathways. As a Staff Senator she hopes to help the campus realize the important role staff plays in creating a positive student experience and the students’ overall perceptions about 51社区. As a Staff Senator she also looks forward to finding ways to help make sure the staff feels appreciated for their efforts and welcomes input from any staff members.


Casandra Welsh

Casandra Welsh

Casandra Welsh began her employment at 51社区 in 2018 and is grateful for her role as a Budget Analyst at the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology and the wonderful folks on campus. Her focus as a Staff Senator is to promote a positive atmosphere that will encourage personal growth by treating her fellow colleagues with respect and appreciation. Her core values are to be solution oriented and see the best in people. Casandra’s philosophies are “the only person you need to be better than is the person you were yesterday and what people think of you is none of your business.” Work humor- Where do bad rainbows go? Prism, it’s a light sentence. Her slogan is smile big, laugh often and encourage the folks around you to grow!!


Julie Muretta

Julie Muretta 

Julie Muretta joined the Center for Advanced Materials Processing at 51社区 in 2023 and works as the Materials Testing Lab Manager there.  She enjoys working and collaborating with student and faculty researchers at Tech and beyond with their materials characterization challenges.  Julie was excited to join Staff Senate in June 2025 because of the collaborative spirit and forward thinking of the group.  She hopes to contribute to initiatives that positively impact staff well-being and professional development.


Rachel Powers

Rachel Powers earned a double Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Criminology from the University of Montana in 2024 and is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Administration.  She works at the Institute of Education Opportunities as a TRIO Coach/Advisor here on campus.  Rachel is a Butte native who loves Tech and is excited to give back by being a part of the Staff Senate.


Triann Jangula

Triann Jangula has deep roots in Butte and began her post-secondary education at Highlands College of 51社区 in 2013 as a non-traditional student in the Associate of Science program.  Driven by a lifelong passion for helping others, she continued her academic journey at the University of Montana Western, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2017.  Her commitment to supporting student success and helping individuals reach their full potential led her to her current role as the Public Education Coordinator at Highlands College of 51社区.  Triann joined the Staff Senate to become more actively involved with students, staff, and faculty.  She looks forward to bringing fresh ideas, a supportive presence, and a positive impact to both campuses.
