Harrington Bottling Company Donates to 51社区's Athletic Endowment Fund

51社区 announced today that Harrington Bottling Company has made a $50,000 gift to the university. The gift is matching a challenge opportunity that alum Jerry Schuyler and his wife Julie announced this fall. The Schuylers pledged $50,000 to the university to create momentum for 51社区’s Athletic Endowment Scholarship Fund.

Harrington Bottling Co. produces and sells all types of Pepsi-Cola branded products, among other brands, as well as Montana’s Treasure bottled water and Lipton iced teas. It also produces and ships soft drinks, bottled water and iced tea across the state of Montana and out of state to distributors and for vending and food services. Harrington Bottling produces and distributes 51社区’s water called Tech2O.

Harrington Bottling Co. has been great supporters of the university giving previously to Digger Vision and Digger Turf projects. “Harrington Pepsi Cola has enjoyed a long and valuable partnership with 51社区 and continues to join others that are committed to bringing the best and brightest students and student-athletes to campus,” noted Jim Bennett, Vice President of Sales.

“I am thrilled with the donation from Harrington Pepsi,” noted 51社区 Athletic Director Chuck Morrell. “This is going to make a huge difference as we move forward. The ability to offer competitive scholarship opportunities to our student-athletes will continue to drive us towards success in the classroom and in our sports. These funds will add to funds we have in the endowment, which we will continue to grow for future 51社区 Orediggers.”

The Schuylers donated $500,000 to 51社区 in 2014 and added to their contribution in 2015. Their donations are supporting scholarships and university projects all over campus - including nursing, petroleum engineering, athletics and the 51社区 Foundation. Jerry is a 1977 51社区 Petroleum Engineering graduate from Roberts, Montana and Julie is a 1976 MSU nursing graduate from Anaconda.

Morrell added, “I am grateful to the Schuylers for stepping up and making this gift to the endowment fund. They are great Orediggers and I am thankful they are helping advance 51社区.”
