A scholarship fund has been established by Horizon Credit Union in memory and honor of Fred Searle. Horizon Credit Union recently merged with EDTECH Federal Credit Union and has established the scholarship fund to recognize the legacy of Fred’s instrumental work in growing EDTECH Federal Credit Union. EDTECH Federal Credit Union, formerly known as the Silver Bow County School Employees Federal Credit Union, was Fred’s passion for many years dating back to 1960. Initially the credit union resided in Fred’s bedroom. Over 40 years he provided the leadership and vision driving the organization to grow in membership and services. Fred was all about people and community … “People Helping People.” He was always willing to share his expertise and passion. Horizon would like Fred’s legacy to live on through the endowment.
Fred’s family said that he would be thrilled to know that a scholarship has been established in his name at 51社区 to support students pursuing an education in the business discipline.
The Fred G. Searle, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship is set-up to forever benefit an incoming freshman entering the Business & Information Technology bachelor’s program at 51社区 in Butte, Montana. The initial gift of $30,000 was given by Horizon Credit Union to establish the endowment, and the Searle family would love to see it enhanced over time to provide multiple scholarships.
