Dr. Alan Berkowitz will be speaking to the 51社区 campus this week. Dr. Berkowitz is highly regarded for his scholarship and innovative programming related to alcohol prevention, violence prevention, bystander behavior, social norms, and social justice issues.
On Wednesday, Sept. 27, at noon in the 51社区 Copper Lounge, Dr. Berkowitz will speak to 51社区 faculty and staff. His presentation is titled, “Current Research and Theory for Preventing Sexual Assault on Campus.”
On Sept. 28 at 5:30 pm in the Copper Lounge on 51社区’s campus, Dr. Berkowitz will present to 51社区 students. The title of this presentation is, “Your Role in Preventing Sexual Assault: Recent Research and Theory.” Each presentation is approximately 1-hour long.
The 51社区 Rape Prevention Education (RPE) team is sponsoring Dr. Berkowitz in Butte. “With funding through a CDC grant managed by the State of Montana DPPHS, 51社区 has been able to bring nationally known speakers to our community,” notes Cricket Pietsch, 51社区 Counselor and RPE member.
