51社区 will host an event in celebration of Constitution Day, September 18, 2019. The event will kick-off at 7:00 pm with 51社区 Professor Dr. John Ray delivering a speech titled, The Main Themes, Ideas and Principles of the U.S. Constitution: How They Apply Today.
The Constitution is the basis for the structure and many of the processes of our government. Although it is over 200 years old, it is still a living document that must adapt to changing conditions and demands. Over time, the Constitution has been very adaptable and flexible. Dr. Ray’s talk will look at how the constitution has evolved and continues to evolve in response to our changing world.
“Dr. Ray did such an excellent job last year and we received positive feedback from those that attended that we are excited to have him speak again on such an important topic.,” noted 51社区 Dean of Student, Dr. Carrie Vath.
Dr. Ray added, “In this time of political turmoil in our country, it is good to reexamine our founding document, the Constitution, that unites all of us as citizens.”
The event is sponsored by 51社区’s Financial Aid Department. The event will take place on the campus of 51社区 in the Student Union Building’s Kelley Stewart Room. All are welcome to attend.
